I was woken up today by her stepping onto my bed, and was told to put her out to wee. Apparently, according to my dad, she has been whining and barking at the door.
I love how fast she has picked up toilet-training!! I know females generally are much easier to train, but she was excellent! Save for the first week and a little bit of the next of occasional “mistakes” in the house, there was no trouble trying to get her out to do her potty. That may also be because of our constant supervision and scheduling so she would almost always be outdoors when she needs to go. Nonetheless, I’m still so proud of her!!
After feeding her, I brought her indoors while I drank my morning cup of water. In the meantime, I started playing with her using her dolphin plush. That’s when it happened.
I was squatting on the floor while she circled me with ‘dolphin’ in her mouth. That’s when she suddenly jumped on me. Front paws on my head. I tried pushing her off and realised, in utter surprise… that she was HUMPING.
I won’t go into details, I couldn’t get a good look anyway because she was in the way, but she was basically just vibrating in the position she was in.
My sister did inform me of a similar occurrence a few weeks back although back then I really didn’t believe she was actually humping. I mean, she’s a female! And a 4 months baby at that too!! I knew some un-desexed (she’s not desexed yet) puppies hump regardless their gender, even though males tend to end up with that habit more often than females. But I thought that would only happen when they reach sexual maturity, at about 6 months.
I’d probably have to check out if this is actually normal with the dog trainers at her training this Thursday.

Come dolphin, play with me…

Bring it on!

Mommy, why are you looking at me with that thing?
